Brian began ministry in 1999 and has called North Carolina home since 2007. In the spring of 2020, amid COVID-19, he and his team planted Connection Valley Church — built intentionally around authentic connection. What could have been a season of loss became the birthplace of something new.

He holds an M.Div from Liberty University and a Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Counseling.

Married to Brooke since 1999, they have four adult children — Micah, Matt, Mia, and Mae — and share their home with a dog named Clove and two marmalade cats, Milo and Ollie. They love this season of growing friendship with their kids as they step into adulthood.

Brian and Brooke are minority owners of CrossFit Altus and believe a healthy body supports a healthy soul. He loves the Triad dining scene, date nights, hiking, travel, and Georgia Bulldogs football.

Brooke grew up as the daughter of a minister, so ministry has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. Since 1999, she has been actively involved in serving in whatever capacity has been needed working alongside her husband, Brian.

In the early years of ministry and family, Brooke homeschooled their four children. The calling to motherhood only deepened her desire to help other families enjoy spiritual and emotional connection. Even though her children are now grown, this remains central to her heartbeat.

Brooke enjoys date nights with Brian, family dinners around the table, travel, game nights with friends and crime TV.

Charles grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to North Carolina for work in 2010. After working for years in the for-profit professional world, he began serving in children's ministry in 2018. From this experience, he quickly developed a passion for helping kids and families grow in their relationship with Jesus through authentic connection and discipleship.

He currently serves as a pastor at Connection Valley Church, where he invests in the next generation and enjoys helping create environments where they can encounter Jesus and build meaningful community.

Charles earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and later received his Master of Divinity from Liberty University in 2023. He is passionate about helping people navigate real life and real faith while continually pointing them to the hope and grace found in Jesus.

Charles has been married to Vanessa since October 1999. They are proud parents of their son, Parker, a drummer who will be a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Music this fall.

Outside of ministry, Charles enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends, good coffee, music, and being part of the community at CrossFit Altius in Kernersville.

Matt grew up in the church and picked up his first instrument at age 10 — and he hasn't stopped playing since. By 14 he was leading worship through music alongside the church band, and over the past decade he has developed a deep conviction that music is one of the most powerful ways God moves in the human heart.

As Worship Director, Matt's goal is simple: create space for people to encounter Jesus. He believes that what happens in a room when people sing together is something no other medium can replicate — and he counts it a privilege to steward that every week.

When he's not leading worship at our church services, Matt teaches Economics and Personal Finance and coaches Women's Lacrosse at Southwest Guilford High School. He's a devoted Georgia football and Braves baseball fan, and he unwinds the best way he knows how — video games and a good playlist going at the same time.
